One source put it bluntly: “The expectation is that the SEC is not working on crypto ETFs’ registration statements until the government reopens.”

Could Paul Atkins, the Trump-appointed SEC chair, carve out an exception and push crypto products through anyway?

Maybe. But don’t bet on it.

The irony is painful: just as generic listing standards made ETF approvals “essentially automatic,” politics has yanked the cord.

The SEC could batch-approve multiple ETFs in October or November - but only after the lights come back on.

So yes, the ETF supercycle is still coming. It’s just on pause for the moment.

To do that we’ll be focusing on the amount of Ethereum currently being staked.

Staked ETH won’t stop climbing.

As of today, 35,708,659 ETH is locked away.

That’s +1.71M ETH this year alone - worth about $7.4B at current prices.

And here’s the kicker: that stash now equals 29.47% of Ethereum’s entire supply.

Nearly a third of all ETH is effectively off the market - parked by holders who aren’t touching it anytime soon.

Meanwhile, exchange balances just hit a nine-year low.

This is a textbook supply crunch unfolding in real time.
