BREAKING: Trumpās ācrypto czarā floats Bitcoin reserve as White House pushes Wovereign Wealth Fund

Crypto Czar David Sacks just outlined the new administrations broad pro-crypto agenda.
The speech touched on stablecoins, pro-crypto regulations and cleaning up a lot of issues caused by the previous administration.
(Checkout the full press conference here)
But we know what youāre really looking forā¦
Was there any mention of the strategic Bitcoin (crypto?) reserve?
Yes. Yes there was.
Finally we have some more info on the Strategic Bitcoin Reserve.
Hereās what David Sacks had to say:
āOne of the things that the President instructed us to do was to evaluate the idea for a Bitcoin reserve. Thatās one of the first things that weāre going to look at as part of the internal working group of the administration.ā
Continuing on, Sacks explained that they are still waiting on a number of cabinet officials to be confirmed:
āWeāre still waiting for some cabinet secretaries on the working group to be confirmed⦠But once thatās in place, one of our first steps will be assessing the feasibility of a Bitcoin reserve.ā
The interesting thing to point out here is that David Sacks himself explicitly used the word āBitcoinā.
If you can remember back to two weeks ago, Trump signed an executive order forming this ādigital assets working groupā.
That executive order tasked the working group to evaluate the creation of a ānational digital asset stockpileā. (No mention of Bitcoin anywhere to be seen)
At least this time we have some confirmation of what may be included in the stockpile.

Bitcoin Magazine CEO, David Bailey
Appearing on an interview with CNBC later in the day, David Sacks also had this to say:
āPresident Trump asked our working group to study whether itās feasible to create either a Bitcoin reserve or some sort of digital asset stockpile. We havenāt committed yet to doing it but itās one of the first things weāre going to be looking at.ā
To us this sounds like itās happeningā¦
We just have to wait a little longer.
What an insane timeline. š

THANK ME LATER⦠š¤Ø
The son of the President of the United States just said itās a great time to buy Ethereum.
Thatās not a joke. š¤Æ

In case you werenāt familiar with the Trump family structure, Eric Trump is Donald Trumpās third child.
Yesterday, he posted this to his twitter:

However, Eric edited this tweet, twice. Hereās the original versions:

āYou can thank me later.ā š
Whatās interesting is that Eric is a long-time friend of Michael Saylorā¦
Two friends, one passion: Bitcoin š @saylor
ā Eric Trump (@EricTrump)
3:21 AM ⢠Jan 3, 2025
But he doesnāt seem to share Saylorās singular passion for Bitcoin.
As a reminder: The Trump family's DeFi project, World Liberty Financial, currently holds $210+ million in Ethereum.
Thatās almost 4x their Bitcoin holdings.
Probably not the best time to bet against Ethereum. š°

HIGHER AND HIGHER š
Time for a check in on one of our favourite charts.
The supply last active 1+ years ago metric is super simple to understand and extremely useful.
It categorises coins based on how long itās been since they last moved on-chain. (As a percentage of the circulating supply)
Metrics rising: long-term holders are accumulating coins š
Metrics declining: long-term holders are selling coins š

Hereās the breakdown for each cohort (compared to what it was 2 weeks ago):
š“ Supply last active 1+ years ago: 62.91% (up from 62.13%)
š Supply last active 2+ years ago: 53.09% (down from 53.36%)
š¢ Supply last active 3+ years ago: 45.58% (up from 45.31%)
šµ Supply last active 5+ years ago: 30.52% (down from 30.70%)
Bit of a mixed bag this timeā¦
The 1+ and 3+ age bands both saw increases totalling 1.05%.
Whilst the 2+ and 5+ age bands both saw decreases totalling 0.45%
Despite some movement in the 2+ and 5+ age bands, the net effect is that more supply is aging into long-term holding.
True long-term holders are holding out for higher and higher pricesā¦
