JUST IN: US government avoids shutdown with 45-day stopgap bill approved by Congress hours before funding expires

Two days ago we spoke about the SEC delaying the Bitcoin ETFs. The reason for this decision was the looming US Government Shutdown.

The shutdown would have left the SEC with ~20% of it’s staff. Not enough to go through the approval process… according to Gary Gensler…

The actual decision deadline for BlackRock’s ETF was 17 October.

Was the SEC too hasty in once again delaying the Bitcoin ETFs with the shutdown as an excuse?

We think so.

Anyway, we carry on.

The next decision deadline for these ETFs falls on 15 January 2024.

And if the SEC chooses to delay again, they must make a decision by 15 March 2024 (the final decision deadline).

Crypto is like the wild west of investing. 🤠

Last week, Kiyosaki responded to investors questioning him on the future price of gold, silver & Bitcoin. This is what he had to say:

Kiyosaki followed that up by telling investors how to be winners, not losers.

Kiyosaki’s actual Bitcoin price prediction? Here’s his 2025 outlook:

Bottom Line: Although his Bitcoin prediction is probably too optimistic, he’s directionally correct.

What’s cool is seeing one of the biggest influencers in finance be so bullish on Bitcoin.

Kiyosaki is 76 and is converting the generation with the least adoption (baby boomers) into Bitcoiners. 😎

Despite the SEC’s continued postponement of multiple ETF applications, Bitcoin finished September on top.

Absolutely no one was expecting this. September has historically been one of Bitcoin’s worst performing months.

BUT, we closed the month with a price increase of ~4% (not the biggest increase but bucking the negative trend is still significant).

This is the first positive September we’ve seen since 2016…

AND also the first positive month since June this year.

These September results are promising but let’s zoom out a little.

Across Q3 of 2023 Bitcoin saw a decrease in price of 11.54%. The first negative quarter of the year. 😲

Looking ahead to the rest of the year, investors are optimistic about October…

In fact, it’s been dubbed “Uptober” by many.

October is historically one of Bitcoin’s best performing months. The last 4 years have been nothing but green for October.

Take another look at the monthly returns table...

The last 2 times that September was positive: October, November and December were also positive…

Bottom Line: History doesn’t repeat itself but it often rhymes…
